Amy Lyman, our founder and a holistic aromatherapist trained at the East West School of Herbal and Aromatic Medicine, started making lotion bars after seeing a friend struggle with dry, tired skin and realizing the store bought options were full of ingredients she wouldn't put on her own body. With over 20 years in aromatherapy and holistic wellness, she formulates every lotion bar with intentionally chosen plant butters and oils, no water, no beeswax, no toxins.

I haven't had a chance to try the bug off one yet but it does have a nice smell. I ordered unscented lotion bars as well and I highly recommend them. I even took my bar to work for my coworker to try and she immediately ordered for her daughter and daughter in law.

The lavender bar is especially nice with a scent added over my first unscented bar. I love how my skin feels and especially like that it seems to last longer than my lotions. The only critique is, you need to get it warmed up between your hands. It stays solid so heat helps apply it.

Yes. Our lotion bars are formulated without water, alcohol, beeswax, or synthetic fillers — ingredients that commonly irritate sensitive skin. The base is crafted from skin-nourishing butters and pure essential oils chosen for their gentle, therapeutic properties. For the most sensitive skin, our Unscented Solid Lotion Bar contains no added fragrance and is Amy's recommended starting point.
Many traditional body lotions contain both water, alcohol, and beeswax. These ingredients can leave the skin feeling sticky when applied and don't fully absorb into the skin due to water creating a barrier on your skin, and water drying out your skin.
- Start with dry skin, ideally after a shower or bath as the skin pores are full open.
- Hold the lotion bar in your palm so that it begins to soften with your body heat.
- Slowly, glide the solid lotion bar on your skin where hydration is needed. A little truly goes a long way and only a few swipes of the bar for each body part is needed.
- Massage the lotion bar into your skin and enjoy the hydration of your skin.
